Further details on the Ellen Louisa BARTLETT and Frederick William
HAWKER family.
It is interesting to see in the 1901 census that probably because of his
Army career they moved around a lot because further children are listed
Edith born 1890 in Ireland; Frederick born 1894 in Ireland; Albert born
1898 in Bermuda West Indies; and then Kate born 1900 at Aldershot
Best wishes

Also point of interest on Eldersfield Parish records John & Mary Hawker (nee Darrell) had a child

There is no other reference to George there after but a son Giles appears on John Hawkers Will."

West of the church , and on a headstone belonging to Winifred Sarah Hawker of Hill Court Gardens, we see reference to her brother. Sergeant Arthur Allen Hawker who was killed in action on September 9th 1918. He served with No.1 Company of the 4th Battalion, Grenadier Guards and St Michael's has a plaque inside the church (to the left of the door on the north side) which was placed there by his father and mother (Arthur and Rhoda) in 1924.
