William Griffin

Email from Robert Griffin toGraham George Hawker dated 22 September 2004
Hello Graham,
I wonder if you can help solve a mystery.
My tree shows:
Thomas Hawker Lapworth b. abt 1793, wife Mary
parents of Harriett Hawker Lapworth b.8 Mar 1815,
Christened 19 May 1815 at St.Philips,Birmingham.
Marriage of Harriett to my Gt.Gfthr. William Griffin
28 July 1850 at St Georges, B`ham. William was born
1820 at Newbury Berks. He was a master baker.
The 1851 census shows a Thomas Hawker a visitor at the
house in 145 Well St, Aston, B`ham.
However the 1881 census shows Willam remarried to a
Sarah Hardiman on 4 Oct 1874 at St Matthias, B`ham.
She was born in Kidderminster abt.1850.They then had a
shop at 90 Winson Green Rd., B`ham
The mystery? What happened to Harriett, was she
divorced, separated or died? Did she have children of
the marriage? What is the connection between Hawker
and Lapworth?
Can you help in any way? I note most names are on
your tree at connectedglobe.com.
By the way, I know Cebu quite well, my wife Elisa is a
Filipina from Cebu City.
Regards, Robert Griffin.
