The GFHS cd of the 1851 census for the county has Joseph HAWKER, HD M 42, a master baker, at 16 Milsom Street, Cheltenham, with Harriet, WI M 45, Baker's Wife; Martha, DA U 15, Mantle Maker; Louisa, DA U 10, Scholar; James, SO U 8, scholar; and George, SO U 5. William Eagles

Email dated 2 November 2000 from Marcy Petersen Carthage, MO, USA
"Kent Petersen" <kentp@cox-internet.com>
Graham,

I received your letter dated September 09. I searched through your website
and found you had a little bit on my Eagles and Margrate lines-which are two
of my main lines. I found this below. The Hannah here is Hannah Margrate.

William Eagles married Hannah.

Hannah married William Eagles.

They had the following children:

F i Elizabeth Eagles was christened on 4 Jul 1786.

But, what I am hoping you have is information on a Gyles Hawker. Actually,
I have atleast 2 Giles/Gyles Hawker in my lines. In Mrs. Elizabeth
Greening's 1625 will at Deerhurst, (the main line I am working on) she asks
that Gyles Hawker, my kinsman..."

On 1 June 2003 the web site http://www.users.bigpond.com/williamr/ was consulted. The site, created by William Good, contains information on the Eagles family of Deerhurst. Information relating to the ancestry of William Eagles comes from those web pages.

Henry Hawker

The 1863 Post Office Directory for Gloucestershire contains a Henry Hakwer. He is shown on page 257 of the Directory as:
